BeBarcamp May 2009

@3en (Ben Reyes)  and @othernonsense (Alinna Chung) was at Social Media Camp (socialmediacamp.co.uk) in London over Saturday 25th April 2009.

@Vero (thatcanadiangirl.co.uk) organised a amazing day at the Wallacespace in St Pancras.

We enjoyed being at the event which had some fantastic talks and discussions. We hope to get the oppertunity to sponsor the next Social Media Camp.

After the event @3en from the BE OpenHub project joined in with the photo scavengar hunt and teamed up with @dolphonia @reyes @gandalfar

We didn’t win but this team won.

1 Years Free Broadband

We also gave away 1 years free broadband from (bethere.co.uk). Edward (whymandesign.com) got he’s business card drawn from the box by @Vero. Ed is going to be using he’s free broadband for a philanthropic social enterprise that empowers young people to create innovation that solves social problems called http://openspacecafe.ning.com that he plans to launch in the summer.

Online Communities & Social Media

BeBarCamp is a Mini Barcamp hosted in Be Broadband’s Central London office. A Barcamp event in an ad-hoc conference where anyone can host a session or presentation.

Sessions are 20 minutes each, 10 minutes will be dedicated to a presentation if needed and the next 10 minutes will be on discussion.

The idea of this is to continually keep the discussion and talks flowing.

We are hosting our very first BeBarCamp event at the Be House. Everyone is invited to turn up to meet some of the Be team and host your own session/talk.

ProActivePaul (blog, twitter) has already confirmed that he’ll be coming and may be doing a new talk on problem solving.

On the day there will be a grid (timetable) where you will be able to slot your talk.
